About the Author |
My two passions are (1) helping veterans and (2) researching family history. My convictions run deep and my desire to help veterans fight for their benefits is strong. Since 1995, I have volunteered my time helping disabled veterans fight for their Compensation and Pension benefits through the Veterans Service Office in my hometown. In 1997, I began my lifelong passion to document my family roots, never dreaming my research would unravel a 40-year, well-kept secret. I spent 8 years investigating Whispers from an Empty Coffin, which includes personal interviews, original military documents kept by family members, interviews with various military personnel, and extensive research from the National Archives and Records Administration. Combined, my research eventually led to this remarkable story. Through Pop's story, I hope to educate the public concerning the variations of impact that war has on each individual person and at the same time, demonstrate the importance of family and one's personal history. |
